Hellen’s Black is a rich umber color that adds depth and dimension to your artwork, perfect for creating contrasts and enhancing earthy tones. It feels like something between a soot black and umber, and it has extra granulation.
In the sample picture, the bird is painted with Hellen’s black, with Agege Cream for the beak, and Agwata Orange for the legs and eye.
Hellen’s Black was gifted to the Paintmakers by Hellen after the team painted her traditional house. Hellen also lets the Paintmakers gather soot from the thatched roof to make Atuk Brown soot pigment.
(Hellen’s Black: 20 ml = 19 g; 35 ml = 33 g; 55 ml = 52 g)
